Mimi McFadden
I began my career as a middle and high school math teacher and have over 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, adjunct professor of undergraduate and graduate courses, curriculum developer and educational consultant. In 1998, my husband Ledyard and I founded SchoolWorks, an educational consulting company. As Business Manager, I developed, executed, maintained and oversaw the entire budgeting, financial and human resources systems for this multi-million dollar company. As a result, the company had clear financial goals, organized systems and successful growth. We sold SchoolWorks in 2019, and in our final few years of ownership, I served as the Treasurer, overseeing the company’s finances and administration.​
​I hold a bachelor’s degree in education and a masters and doctoral degree in mathematics education all from Boston University. I live in Manchester-by-the-Sea with my loving supportive husband. We have three children, two are college graduates and one currently in college. I am a very health focused person and care a lot about eating well and exercising regularly. I have a huge passion for running and often take part in local races helping to feed my competitive nature. I love the outdoors and try to take my two dogs on a daily hike in the woods or on the beach no matter what the New England weather brings. My family often finds me doing all kinds of puzzles, and I always make sure to complete the New York Times crossword every Sunday.
In 2018, after many years of being a very busy mom, I started Terrapin to offer my energy and financial and organizational skills to small businesses. I recognize what it means to have a nonstop to-do list in your business and not enough time to get it all done. Ask anyone who knows me, and they will tell you that I know how to get something done quickly, efficiently and effectively. I am a successful multitasker, extremely organized, have a lot of energy, and perhaps most importantly, I love to help others. I look forward to getting to know you and assisting you in finding more quality time to focus on your business and what you do best.
